Calvin and Hobbes

Bill Waterson's Calvin and Hobbes is about a young boy  and his stuffed tiger whom he imagines to be a real tiger.   The two of them get into all kinds of trouble, usually instigated by Calvin, but sometimes by Hobbes. Meet the real-life Calvin and Hobbes- also known as Max and Baron!

Getting ready for Christmas Eve

He's a bit young, but Max wanted to shave before going to Omi's house for Christmas Eve service and dinner.

Dinner was fantastic! Especially the cookies.

A Farzanegan Birthday

Happy Birthday Max!

The newest Farzanegan celebrated joining the elusive club known as 'the single digits' as he celebrated his first birthday. He spent time with family and enjoyed everyone calling up and singing (as he put it) "wa-wa Wa-wa, Wa-wahhhh" He walked around the house and moved items around. He also chased the dog and played with his blocks. The biggest highlight was eating applesauce at dinner. Max confides that he's looking forward to next year's birthday because he'll be twice as old!

We love football season! All of us! Griff is the center of his Pop Warner league and Middle School team, while Aidan is on the line on his Pop Warner team. But watch out for Max, already working out for the 2018 season!

Early( and I mean early!) on August 8th, we headed out for a day of exciting diving! After loading all of our stuff
into the car, we went to get our friend Pete, and started the drive to beautiful Beaufort, NC. After arriving, we put the boat in the water and started to load our scuba gear, tanks and most importantly people. We went to about 30 miles off shore to a ledge we had hit before, and the fun began. On the first dive of the day, the water was warm( yay!) and the visability was about 15-20 feet on the bottom. This is when our fish killing instinct kicked into high gear, but the dive showed a lack of fish. We came up with two black sea bass( Erin's kill!). The lack of fish was made up for when a huge sea turtle came up to investigate.

On the second dive of the day, The conditions were about the same. The fish on this dive were once again MIA. But Papa did manage to get a nice sized grouper. The amberjack were just circling around us, but we couldn't find the
urge to shoot them.

On the third dive of the day, Papa and Pete went in search of fish. This was where we hit the jackpot!! The men came up with a grouper and an amberjack. Papa's grouper was about 18 lbs and Petes was about 12(Oh! take that!) and the amberjacks weighted in at about 35 lbs. As you can tell from the picture below they were huge...

That was the end of our trip to the coast, and hopefully we will go back soon for more fish and great NC diving.
