The Women's 2008 World Championship Snowboard team?! Probably not, unless we have a masseuse and chiropractor to accompany us. The girls tried snowboarding for the first time with Papa at Wintergreen, Va. Most of the day was spent like this, though they did get a few runs in. We rode with Slope and Sail which really made a nice trip leaving the driving to someone else. Wintergreen is a pretty nice place- the food was decent, the prices reasonable, but for anything other than daytrips, we're spoiled and will go back out West or to Europe.

Look out 2010 Winter Olympics, though! Posted by Picasa

So, here is the proof that I *am* riding my bike!
I have yet to get the title for it, but I will....
Actually had to ride it to a gas station without
the plates, but probably was not as nervous
as I should have been. Posted by Picasa

Bud had to leave, which left Alex and I a half-day to just hang out... or do something. Something sounded more fun, so we rented snowmobiles! Wyoming (or the West in general) is amazing. Thirty minutes from Jackson are state-maintained snowmobile trails. 350 *miles* of them. Groomed. Patrolled. Back home, I have to drive four hours to find a state park I can ride a motorcycle or jeep on (the only one in the state).

This particular photo was one of those 'Hey, y'all... watch this' episodes. I saw a big hill that looked like fun to climb- I made it to the top and waved for Lex to follow me. He made it.. but got his sled stuck, so it took us a while to dig it out and get it back down.

What a rush- snowmobiling is as much fun as it looks. Even with windburned lips and sore joints... what is most sore is my jaw from grinning so much! As we started off on our 50+ mile ride, a pair of moose crossed the trail in front of us. About halfway through the trip, the trail opened up into giant fields where we did high-speed runs through the powder, climbed hills and jumped berms.

I highly recommend it- I also got a brochure for a resort that is only accessable by cross-country skiing or snowmobile (I think Steff and I will do the latter if we go). Posted by Picasa

Shredding in da park, yo. Catching a little mad air off the nasty tabletop. Working out the moves for the big daddy backside. Speaking of backside, I'll be spending days in a hot bath soothing muscles that have never been used before.
A beautiful day back in Jackson Hole (the Village), the sun was shining, making the quest for pow-pow ('powder snow') moot. But, it was a perfect day to play in the terrain park- rails, jumps, boxes- this park had it all. 'Stick' Harris and 'Secret Agent Lex' Meyer had the big moves today, but I managed a few rails, some ollies and jumps. Posted by Picasa

First day of skiing Jackson Hole, Wyoming. "That's a long way down". Hanging out with Bud and Lex- having a blast. Just glad to be here as we didn't land until 3am East Coast time.
We ended up flying in circles 1 1/2 hours- but they were going to land us in the snowstorm because our plane had a mechanic and flight crew for a plane that was stranded from the morning. It was the scariest landing- we bounced! Lex said he couldn't even find the airport driving to meet us- normally someone would kiss the ground. I'm making up for it by 'kissing' the snow. Over and over! Posted by Picasa
